The flight attendant served her an orange juice and Jenn settled in for the long flight. She’d just pulled out the last report on the project when the plane nosedived, dumping her juice off the back of the seat tray and down her legs. The RETURN TO YOUR SEAT sign flashed on with a loud ding.
“This is your captain speaking. We’ve experienced a bird strike to one of our engines. Please remain in your seats. We will be landing shortly.”
The plane’s pitch deepened and the plane shook. Oxygen masks dropped. Jenn reached for her mask and placed it over her nose, as did the people around her. She looked out her window to see the ground rising quickly.
“Brace! Brace! Brace!” came the shout over the plane’s intercom.
